Hello, I’m Stephanie Martin, a Registered Counsellor with a background in nursing and over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescence and families at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. My passion lies in helping individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives.
I offer a caring, non-judgmental space where people feel heard, supported, and empowered.
As a mother of two, I understand the pressures of parenting and the emotional demands families often face. I also bring lived experience of life’s challenges, which helps me connect with others in a genuine, compassionate, and relatable way.
I work with children, teens, and adults and those plan or self-managed under the NDIS, focusing on practical strategies that build confidence, resilience, and independence.
I support people with:
- Autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent profiles
- Anxiety, low mood, or emotional overwhelm
- Goals related to independence, social skills, or emotional wellbeing
- Parenting challenges, including managing stress, strengthening parent-child relationships, and navigating behavioural or developmental concerns
- Perinatal and postnatal mental health concerns, including adjustment difficulties, emotional distress, and identity changes during the transition to parenthood
Therapeutic supports include:
- Emotional regulation and stress management
- Building confidence and self-worth
- Coping with school, work, parenthood and life changes
- Improving social and communication skills
- Creating routines and setting achievable goals
- Exploring identity, strengths, and values
I’ve supported people from diverse backgrounds, including individuals from all cultures, parents, neurodivergent individuals, people with disabilities or chronic health conditions, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and those impacted by addiction.
Every session will be tailored to your needs, with a person-centred and therapeutic approach.
